The Gurteen Knowledge Community

The Gurteen Knowledge Community is a global learning community of over 18,000 people in 160 countries across the world.

The community is for people who are committed to making a difference: people who wish to share and learn from each other and who strive to see the world differently, think differently and act differently.

Membership of the community is diverse but members have common traits - they:
  • are committed to making a difference
  • are inclined to action
  • see themselves as thought-leaders and change activists
  • recognize the importance of understanding through dialogue and conversation
  • have a passion for learning
  • are open minded and non-judgmental by nature
  • value diversity and cultural differences
If this is you then here are some reasons to join the community:
  • to come together to take action
  • to explore new ways of working
  • to improve your understanding of the world
  • to meet like-minded people (and not so like-minded)
  • to share knowledge and to learn
  • to gain new/different perspectives
  • to give/gain support and motivation from other members

Membership of the community is free and your only obligation is to receive the free monthly knowledge letter.

If you wish to leave the community or modify any of your details please see here for full instructions.

As a member of the community you are also entitled to attend Gurteen Community Cafes.

Gurteen Community Cafés are the regular meetings of the Gurteen Knowledge Community.

Their purpose is to bring people together to learn from each other in order that they may make a difference.

Video: Knowledge Cafe at KM Egypt 2010

This video was taken at KM Egypt in September 2010 where I was invited to run a Knowledge Cafe.

It is probably one of the best videos that not only describes my Knowledge Cafes but where you also get to see it in action and hear some of the insights from the people taking part.

Note: the room and the tables are not the ideal setting for a Knowledge Cafe nor is the reporting back process but often the Cafe needs to be adapted to fit the room and the number of participants.
