Both academic researchers and practitioners have posited that their successful employ benefits organizations by improving their operations, personnel management, and strategy development. At this juncture it may be useful to assess the impact of all this work on actual performance outcomes. One thing a chairperson can easily do at a conference do make them more engaging and interactive is to allow the participants to have a short conversation with each other after a speaker has finished their talk but before entering the Q&A.
