Professor Clive Holtham is Professor of Information Management at the CASS Business School, London. After studying politics, philosophy, economics and management studies, Clive Holtham trained as an accountant and in the 1970's he was heavily involved in computer-based financial modelling. As a finance director for six years, he promoted office automation to top and senior manager colleagues. He also set up a nationally recognized system for setting and measuring performance targets. Clive was appointed to the new chair of Information Management at CASS Business School in 1988. He carried out a study of the IT needs of top managers in conjunction with the Institute of Directors. Clive was research director on a recent major project, with five industrial partners, into the impact of collaboration technologies to support high level business processes ("The Business Facilitation System"). He has reviewed the strategic impact of both CD-ROM and networked multimedia on business, and has been Expert Advisor to the European Parliament in this area.
