I remain certain that the quest for truth cannot thrive outside the nourishment of mutual trust flowering into a commitment to friendship. Ivan Illich, (1926 - 2002) Learning from programmed information always hides reality behind a screen. Ivan Illich, (1926 - 2002) There is no greater distance than that between a man in prayer and God. Ivan Illich, (1926 - 2002) In a consumer society there are inevitably two kinds of slaves: the prisoners of addiction and the prisoners of envy. Ivan Illich, (1926 - 2002) Together we have come to realize that for most men the right to learn is curtailed by the obligation to attend school. Ivan Illich, (1926 - 2002)
