This is a very cool idea indeed and demonstrates the simplicity but awesome power of weblog and RSS technology. It is this that 'turned me on' when I first discovered these two technologies.

"The concept is simple.

In addition to getting new posts from news sites and other weblogs, RSS feeds can contain data from corporate systems. Sales data, financial data, supply data, data from partner systems, etc.

Using this method, employees could get up to the minute data from multiple applications on a single webpage -- a personal digital dashboard. " John Robb

As far as I know - no one is doing this sort of thing and I do not know why not. Its a little bit like Lotus Notes - many large global organizations are using it for a few sophisticated applications but have totally missed its colossal potential for doing very powerful things extremely simply and at very low cost.
