This is the first blog entry that I have mailed into my weblog. Lotus Notes allows you to not only send an e-mail to a user but to send an e-mail to a Notes/Domino database. As my website is a Domino database, I have asked my ISP to configure their Domino server so that all e-mail addressed to "blog@gurteen.com" is mailed into my website database gurteen.nsf.

An agent then runs and creates a weblog entry from the incoming e-mail.

Simplicity itself!

So I now have three ways of updating my blog:

1. On my website via a web browser
2. Via a Notes client.
3. Via e-mail

So my weblog is never that far away.

In this initial implementation - it simply mails the entry into my personal blog but I plan to define a simple command language that will provide me with more control e.g. the ability to mail-in to another blog and more besides ... watch this space!

The Gurteen Knowledge Search Engine is a customised Google search engine that searches over 800 KM related websites and weblogs.
