The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran(1923) |
|
I love the work of Kahlil Gibran and only wished I had discovered him when I was younger. The Prophet is his most powerful and mystical work. The book is written as a series of passages; the format is that of a "Prophet" answering questions on life. The book does not specifically refer to any religion but is extremely spiritual in nature. The passages give words of wisdom on all subjects from houses to children, from love to work, from trading to marriage. The passages are short but profound and leave your vision of this world subtly enriched.
