I think at its best, KM is a social phenomena.
It is where people come together to share their knowledge, to learn from each other and to work more effectively together to meet both their business and personal objectives.
That is my view of KM.
This one-day workshop is primarily designed for managers and knowledge managers but will prove useful to anyone who is serious about transforming the way that they work; their ability to create and to innovate and to improve the way that they manage and interact with other people in their organization.
Learning Methods Used
This workshop is designed to be interactive and participatory. It is not a ‘chalk and talk’ event. It allows you to engage with the theme through conversation, discussion and group working. One of the aim's of the workshop is to foster a ‘community spirit’ in order if you wish to continue to work together and support each other after the workshop is over.
You will learn
The Social KM Cafe is designed to introduce you to new ways of working. At the end of the Social KM Café you should have:

A detailed understanding of some of the more important soft-social tools such as knowledge cafes and after action reviews and the central role of conversation in business
An understanding of techno-social tools and why they are so different to more traditional collaborative tools
A detailed understanding of the power of the core techno-social tools such as blogs, wikis, RSS readers and social book marking
