I am always meeting with people, sometimes business meetings, other times networking and of course socially.
If I do not know the person or people I am meeting and if they live some distance from me then trying to agree a mutually convenient meeting place that we both can easily find can be difficult.
I have recently been holding meetings more frequently and have not only needed to identify additional meeting places but have also grown tired of repeatedly having to agree a location and then give verbal or e-mail directions. So I thought why not put the details on my website. This would make it so much easier for me and the people I meet but also other people who are looking for useful meeting locations.
So here they are - the list is short and the venue details may need a little elaboration but its a start. I hope you find them useful. I will be adding more over time and if you have any suggestions yourself - then please drop me an e-mail.
Here are some criteria, I have drawn up for a good meeting place:
Easy Access: If a pub then say close to a motorway junction. If in London then close to a tube or rail station.
Availability: Long opening hours. Preferably all day and evening.
Easy to Find: Directions simple and unambiguous.
Parking: If outside a major city then convenient parking.
Ambience: Quiet, private, condusive to conversation.
Capacity: Ideal for 1 on 1 meetings and small groups of up to 5 people.
