Knowledge Cafe with Richard McDermott: What about thinking?
Gurteen Knowledge Cafe (15 February 2011)
Date: Tuesday 15th February 2011, 6:00pm - 8:30pm. This is a free event. Please arrive at 6:00pm or shortly after, which will give you time to settle in and meet other people. Refreshments will be available. The cafe itself will start at 6:30pm. For those interested we normally go for a drink at a local pub after the event.
Theme: What about thinking? How can we improve the thinking we do with the information and knowledge we have?
Information management has helped many organizations document procedures and insights, organize information, make information widely available, connect far-flung staff, and enable greater global collaboration. Now many professionals are overwhelmed by the explosion of information and the number of far-flung contacts they need to maintain. What if we shifted attention from managing information, to understanding how professionals turn that information into insights? Join us for a little live collaborative research on how we and other professionals in our organizations use information and knowledge to think.
