Theme: The 10 year impact of communities, now and in the future This café briefly reviews the 10 year impact of communities of practice, their evolution, and their current role in organizations. It is based on a decade of research in community effectiveness, as reported in the March 2010 issues the Harvard Business Review. Grounded in our knowledge of how technology, organizational dynamics and social change have shaped the evolution of communities, the café will focus on: “How will the emergence of new social media, current organizational dynamics and social change shape the role and impact of communities over the next 10 years.” Speaker: Richard McDermott Richard McDermott is a leading author and consultant on designing knowledge organizations.
