Knowledge Management (KM) can yield substantial benefits in terms of internal effectiveness and by supporting an organisation in adhering to compliance and regulations. However, organisations often find it challenging to articulate the value of KM to the senior management. This is partially due to the intangible aspect of the benefits and the fact that KM initiatives are often dispersed across the organisation without a common governance. This session will present and generate discussion around how an organisation can measure the effectiveness of KM investments. Speakers: Chris Eriksson and Mike Grafham Mike Grafham Mike has worked in and around the field of Enterprise Content Management for the last 7 years, on projects ranging from developing intranet pages, EDRM and web content management system delivery, to Knowledge Management strategy and programme definition. His focus is on helping clients understand how all the 'bits and pieces' of ECM fit together, and how these can be used to help organisations meet their Knowledge Management objectives. Mike also heads up the Web 2.0 initiative within Deloitte UK, which looks at the benefit the next generation web can bring both to our clients and to our firm. Chris Eriksson Chris has 6 years experience of Knowledge Management. He is currently working for Deloitte where he leads the Knowledge Management capability and is a subject matter expert in the field. Previously Chris worked in the industry delivering Enterprise Search and Collaboration solutions. His experience ranges from assisting clients with their Knowledge Management strategies to advising on technology selections and implementations. His project experiences include enterprise portals, intranets, document management, social networking technologies. Host: Kevin Wheatly, Deloitte
