The 4th Knowledge Cities World Summit will take place 14-17 November, 2011, in Holon and Galilee, Israel. Themed - Knowledge Cities for Future Generations "It takes a village to raise a child" the Summit will shed light on the multi-faceted dimensions in building a Knowledge City and developing a Knowledge Region for our future generations. The Knowledge Cities World Summit (KCWS) is the leading annual event, dealing with Research and Management of Knowledge Cities, Knowledge Regions, Knowledge-based Development and Knowledge-based Ecology. The Summit will allow participants to learn and converse on issues such as: * Children in the E-Age * Education and Technology * Water Technology * Green Energy * Triangle of Academics, Industry and Education * Knowledge Cities/Smart Grid * E-Government * Regional Development * Research and Academia as an Anchor for Development The Summit will deal with issues such as: * What is the importance of creating a unique and distinctive image and identity for cities in the 21st century? * The preparedness and capability of the educational system to deal with technological innovations, on the one hand, and risk behavior arising in the era of social networks and technology. * How cities may take advantage of technological improvements to better the services they provide to residents and businesses and how they can improve their communication with their clients using the internet. The main aim of the Summit is to create partnerships and collaborations for future joint projects. In order for these to arise the sessions have been designed so that they enable discussion and conversation resulting in actual consortia for future research and development projects. Each session will revolve around a topic and specific challenge to be explored by the session presenters facilitated by the session chair. The ideas for new projects will be captured and shared with all participants. This way new projects and future research will be initiated in the conference itself: this will be high productivity of knowledge.
