Theme: The impact of video on our business and personal lives
On the Wednesday and the Thursday 11th and 12th July, I am chairing a conference titled Social Tools for Business run by UNICOM Seminars and UNICOM have agreed to host a knowledge cafe on the evening of the first day.

We are hoping that some of the participants and speakers at the conference will stay for the Knowledge Cafe and UNICOM also plan to invite some of their clients so we should have a good turn out.

The advent of ubiquitous high quality user-generated video is transforming the web. The amazing success story of YouTube is testament to this. But what will be the broader long term impact? In this Knowledge Cafe Brad Meyer will help us explore the impact of video on our lives and what this could mean for us.

Brad plans to ask us to take a moment to reflect on our lives - to look back and ask ourselves; "What recorded moments on film or video have really impacted our day, our week, our year, and our lives?" The moments may be from Hollywood, Bollywood, business, YouTube, family camera, eLearning - from anywhere.

In groups, at our tables, we will then share with each other some of those moments and discuss what specifically stood out about them and their impact.. We will then move on to ask the question "If we could harness this sort of video impact potential, where would it really make a positive difference for us and others?

This should be a particularly interesting event and I would encourage you to bring along your cameras (both still, video and mobile phone based) to capture some of the evening. It will be fun!
