After connection via David's webpage; and a coffee in Richmond on a recent visit to England; I am pleased to announce that David has invited me to initiate the first of his KM cafes in Australia. What a pleasure it was to meet with David and to discuss his vision of a world truly connected by 'knowledge'. Now we have that opportunity to connect with him and his KM colleagues across the globe so that the opportunities and advantages of KM for individuals and organizations - small and large, can be revealed.
From my discussions with people in Adelaide and elsewhere in Australia, I know that there is a lot of KM happening in businesses, universities, schools, government and elsewhere. The Gurteen KM Cafe in Adelaide is an opportunity for us to meet and exchange ideas, information, thoughts, views and ideas on how we are actually using KM successfully, and to 'spread the word' about the benefits of a connected KM society. Many of us are already associated with colleagues in other states and territories in Australia and elsewhere who are busily working away on their KM projects. So let's also find out what they are doing and importantly how they are doing it; and what works, and what sometimes doesn't.
The first Adelaide - Australia Community Cafe will take place in Adelaide in February 2006.
If you are interested in taking part then please register your interest below, and we will get back to you with more information nearer the time.
