The http://www.google.com/apis/maps lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages with JavaScript. You can add overlays to the map (including markers and polylines) and display shadowed "info windows" just like Google Maps.
I use it in several areas of my website though due to a technical limitation in Internet Explorer that I have yet to work around the maps only appear in the Firefox browser.
