You will find a comprehensive list of KM networks, societies and associations on this website. In addition, I am making contact with the major KM networks and societies in the world to help loosely link us together. I do not see my community as the hub but just a small part of a larger network of peers who have agreed to informally work together and support each other.
The benefits of such a global KM network are:
Getting to know what other organizations exist and what they are doing. This is not only useful to the individual network organizers but also to the network members themselves.
This will lead to opportunities to support and promote each others activities and to share KM material. e.g. exchange of banner ads and promotion of each others meetings, conferences, workshops, products and other services.
It will allow members to access the broad array of KM resources on each others websites.
It will allow network organizers to keep each other informed by e-mail of significant KM events/opportunities in their area. For example, the country visit of a high-profile KM speaker or facilitator.
I am sure there will be many additional benefits that will emerge over time - that is the intrinsic nature of a large network.
The global network is for organizations that are societies or networks - organizations that have people as members - as the prime objective is to connect like-minded people together around the globe.
The global network is not limited to organizations that are focused solely on knowledge management. It also includes networks focused on KM related topics such as intellectual capital, learning, creativity and innovation. Any network whose aim is to improve human or organizational potential.
To date just a handful of networks have agreed to an informal bilateral agreement with me to jointly promote and support each others activities. You will find the list below.
I hope this page will encourage other networks to create relationships between themselves and thus a global network will slowly emerge. For example, the Association of Knowledgework (AOK) is ahead of me at this - see their affiliate page.
If you are interested in connecting with my network and agreeing to a relationship then please contact me.
Currently, I have relationships with the following networks:
