The DSDM Consortium is a non-profit making organisation dedicated to defining, promoting and continuously evolving a world wide standard for Rapid Application Development (RAD). DSDM is the ONLY non-proprietary method available for RAD in the world. <p> The Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) is a public domain Rapid Application Development method which has been developed through capturing the experience of a large consortium of vendor and user organisations. DSDM is fast becoming the de-facto standard for RAD in many countries, notably in the UK. <p> The following principles are the foundations on which DSDM is based. <p> I. Active user involvement is imperative. <p> II. DSDM teams must be empowered to make decisions. <p> III. The focus is on frequent delivery of products. <p> IV. Fitness for business purpose is the essential criterion for acceptance of deliverables. <p> V. Iterative and incremental development is necessary to converge on an accurate business solution. <p> VI. All changes during development are reversible. <p> VII. Requirements are baselined at a high level. <p> VIII. Testing is integrated throughout the life-cycle. <p> IX. A collaborative and co-operative approach between all stakeholders is essential.
