Dan Holtshouse is Director of Corporate Strategy, Xerox Knowledge Initiatives.
Dan is leading a corporate-wide initiative on knowledge management and knowledge sharing at Xerox. This initiative is developing new emergent perspectives on the future of the high-performance workplace and the underlying nature of knowledge intensive work. Dan brings to this initiative extensive experience gained in the early 90's as a leader and change agent in the positioning of Xerox Corporation as "The Document Company" and the building of corresponding competencies in Document Knowledge and Document Processes.
In his career at Xerox, Dan has helped build and launch a number of new products and businesses including responsibilities for management of new electronic printing and publishing systems, technology leadership of computer graphics software development, acquisition of software businesses, assessments and spinouts of new technologies, business planning of digital scanning systems, and marketing management of workstation and computer network systems.
Prior to joining Xerox, Dan was responsible for the design of advanced automotive electronics at GM and holds some of the early patents for vehicle Air Bag Systems. He also worked as a computer design engineer on computer navigation systems for NASA manned spacecraft systems.
Dan is a frequent contributor to business articles and papers on Knowledge Management and Content Management. He also co-edited the book The Knowledge Advantage, published in 1999.
He holds Masters Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
