I have been involved in practical knowledge management projects for about 6 years and I have gradually learnt that the best thing I can do is to stop mentioning the word knowledge management and focus on what problems I can solve using the core concepts behind knowledge management. So far I have come across these typical problems
1. Co-ordinating the delivery of a process that goes across many functions and disciplines e.g. SAP, CRM, ISO 9000 etc etc
2. Improving the performance of a matrix management structure by enabling people to become more accountable to deliver something
3. Improving the management influence on complex projects like the London Underground PPT?s format and complex engineering projects based on sub-contracting
Does anyone have any other problems that the concepts of knowledge management could be used to solve?
Could this be a subject for the next knowledge café?
I am sorry but due to some technical problems comments are currently disabled.
