Assistant Knowledge Manager, professional services firm
Fantastic opportunity for an individual with a genuine passion and interest in knowledge management to broaden their experience in a global professional services firm. This role will have responsibility for supporting the KM team in delivering KM projects and share best practice with the wider organisation. It will also be the liaison point for a specific area of business and be responsible for delivering the agreed strategy. This will initially involve introducing and embedding good content & knowledge management principles with business users and then develop into creating a full program in line with the business strategy. There will also be a requirement to provide ad hoc support to the wider team on priority projects.
Responsibilities include
Develop a strong working relationship with business stakeholders by delivering high quality, consistent work and understanding the business needs.
Embed good content management practices in the business, particularly content lifecycle management.
Liaise with IT colleagues to make changes/improvements to the firm's internal knowledge platform and other systems based on business requirements.
Be able to digest & understand business issues in order to categorise and organise information accordingly.
Gather and provide feedback, both quantitative and qualitative, to relevant business areas based on metrics and other methods of assessment.
Deliver KM based training to business stakeholders, in a relatable way and using specific business examples.
Support other knowledge managers to deliver the KM strategy in a consistent manner and share best practice within the group.
Act as a point of contact for research and knowledge based queries.
Monitor relevant communication channels and identify important messages to share more widely with different communities.
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to develop good working relationships with stakeholders
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
Understanding of basic KM principles
Proactive, energetic work style and ability to learn quickly
Project management skills helpful
Awareness of change management processes an advantage
Experience with SharePoint desirable but not essential
