Communities of Practice for the Post Recession Environment
Are the principles established for successful Communities of Practice in the 1990s and earlier still sound today? What new principles and good practices are emerging as social media and other channels of communication become part of the new operational infrastructure that we inhabit?
This event consists of a challenging talk by Dion Lindsay to examine what is needed to make Communities of Interest and Practice work well as professional networks, and will also highlight where these lessons are also relevant for those working with Communities in an enterprise setting.
Dion will be joined by Lissi Corfield and Graham Robertson to consider how these ideas can be related to NetIKX as our own Community of Practice. The afternoon will also include our usual syndicate session so that everyone can take part in small groups to share ideas and reflections.
• to explore the future of Communities of Practice and Communities of Interest
• to evaluate such Communities for professional and career development
• to be able to apply CoP theory and best practice to current challenges, including within NetIKX
