An invitation to take part in a major international survey into benchmarking the contribution of networks and communities of practice to individual and organisational performance.
Although anecdotal evidence suggests that knowledge-sharing networks or communities are of substantial benefit not only for the members of the communities but also for the organization as a whole, we currently lack systematic evidence to justify the investment of time and money they involve.
To address this gap, the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council has made a major research award to Professor Harry Scarbrough, Warwick Business School, to carry out a major study on the impact which these peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing networks have on organizational performance.
This workshop marks the launch of the second phase of this study and will feature presentations by Larry Prusak and Richard McDermott, both internationally well-respected in this field, together with practitioner case studies, and the opportunity to help shape the research.
Organisations interested in participating in the study and/or in attending this event should visit the project website at http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/wbs/projects/kcn/ or contact juliane.schwarz@wbs.ac.uk directly.
We look forward to seeing you there.
