SSG is seeking a short-term Project Manager (PM) to coordinate the development of a Public-Partnership Toolkit for the US Department of State. The PM will work with SSG staff and DOS clients to conduct a feasibility study for knowledge management system. The purpose of the proposed KM system is to capture best practices and learning regarding the development and implementation of public private partnerships. In addition to the feasibility study, the PM will lead the preparation of training modules, marketing collateral, talking points, FAQs etc that comprise the Toolkit. The PM will be responsible for overseeing preparation of the various toolkit components and ensuring the quality and timeliness of individual toolkit deliverables to the client. Working with staff and specialists, specific oversight responsibilities will include:
Managing a Knowledge Management (KM) Feasibility Study
Coordinating a small team of consultant area specialists;
Overseeing and participating in the preparation of deliverables;
Designing and implementing a Quality Assurance Plan;
Serving as on-site advisor to the Department of State client as needed.
The ideal candidate will have five to seven years experience in knowledge management, preferably with work experience in government agencies, foundations or consulting firms. The candidate will be a US citizen and should have an MBA or MPA education background. Familiarity with MS Access, MS Project and/or MS Vision is highly desirable. Knowledge of Public-Private Partnerships is a plus. The position requires outstanding organizational skills, strong communications skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to stringent deadlines. The initial appointment period is for 5 months in Washington, DC with possibilities for full-time employment pending the successful completion of initial assignment.
