What
is KM 2.0?Is it real, or just vendor
hype? How does it relate to Web 2.0 and
Enterprise 2.0?And – the bottom line –
how does KM 2.0 help us to leverage knowledge?
These are some of the questions that we’ll try to answer in
the next Boston KM Forum all-day symposium on Leveraging Knowledge. It will be
at Bentley College on Wednesday, April 9.
At $50 – for a full day of presentations, discussions, and
networking, with a simple breakfast and full lunch – the price can’t be beat!!
If this topic isn’t in your direct area of interest, or if
it is and you aren’t able to attend, please forward this message to a colleague
or associate who might be interested.
Here is the agenda:
We’ll lead off the day
with a talk by Mark Frydenberg, a Senior Lecturer at Bentley.Mark will discuss Web 2.0 tools and
concepts, and describe how they can be used to create, share, and manage
knowledge.
Ray Sims, formerly of
Novell, will give us a user’s view of KM 2.0 - what Web 2.0 means from a
behavioral (not tools) perspective and what that implies for the future of
knowledge management.
Dan Keldsen, Director of
Market Intelligence at AIIM, will discuss some of the findings of AIOIM’s
Q1 ’08 “Market IQ” surveyHe will
discuss whether Enterprise 2.0 signifies the birth of KM 2.0, and the
implications for new and old KM implementations.
Jeff Cram (Managing
Director) and David Aponovich (Content Management Strategist) from ISITE
Design will present a case study of the Siemens BeFirst
Portal.This application has been recognized
as one of the best examples of how a large enterprise uses Web 2.0
principles in a business context to collaborate, create, search and find
corporate information assets and previously untapped “tribal knowledge.”
Jessica Lipnack, CEO of NetAge, a company that advises executives on virtual
teams and collaboration strategy, working with staff to launch initiatives
that become part of the new way an organization works.Jessica’s talk will be about resistance
to Web 2.0, even among people like her who have been online forever, and
what happens when that resistance gives way to powerful experiences.
I will be closing the
symposium, tying together the discussion of the day and introducing my
perspectives on KM 2.0 and why we should care.
This symposium will be a true learning event!
The symposium will be held from 8:15-4:00 on Wednesday, April
9, 2008 at Bentley College in Waltham, MA.The fee, including light breakfast and full lunch, is $50.For more information and to register, go to: http://kmforum.org/blog/?p=47
