This seminar aims to help you understand and explore some of the social dynamics that are at work in a networked organisation, and ways in which we can begin to implement technology to support and benefit from these.
It has become a truism that to survive in today's fast-moving world, organisations need to be agile. They need to adapt and respond quickly and efficiently to the demands of the networked economy.
Less obvious is how organisations can best operate in such an environment. Technology is a cornerstone of any strategy, but it is not sufficient in itself. Increasingly, social computing has begun to explore the human and cultural aspects involved when using technology to help an organisation.
The seminar is hosted by Templeton College, University of Oxford and runs from 2pm Thursday 14th July to 12.30 Friday 15th July. The structure of the day has been designed to strike a balance between presentation and discussion, theory and practice. The outline of events is listed below.
